Chat wirelessly with other Meshtastic-compatible devices.
Meshtastic is an open-source protocol that creates a wireless mesh network between devices using LoRa.
LoRa is a long-range wireless technology that transmits data many times further than Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The Hacker Pager runs Meshtastic-powered software, and has a built-in LoRa transmitter and receiver.

No cell towers, no Internet, no service plans. The Hacker Pager is entirely peer-to-peer.
Other nearby Meshtastic devices listen for and relay messages until they reach their destinations.
Join the public mesh-wide chat room, or send encrypted DMs to your friends.
Read and write messages directly on your Pager. Unlike most Meshtastic devices, a separate phone app is not required.
Control everything using the Hacker Pager's fully custom UI, tailor-made to fit its retro LCD screen.
Optionally pair your Pager with the official Meshtastic app for Android and iPhone over Bluetooth.
Log .pcap files containing Meshtastic, LoRaWAN, and other LoRa protocols to the SD card.
Provide your channel encryption key to decode Meshtastic traffic using our Wireshark dissector plugin. Examine everything from text messages to low-level protocol internals.
Measure signal power across a frequency range of 850 to 950 MHz.
Locate nearby wireless devices and determine their channels.
Export RSSI histograms to the SD card.
Learning LoRa? Use the Hacker Pager's open source firmware and hardware as a development platform for the on-board SX1262 radio module.
Experiment with FSK, GFSK, MSK, GMSK, LoRa and Long Range FHSS modulations. External antennas supported.

exploitee.rs (say it like "musketeers") is a collective of like-minded technology enthusiasts who believe you should have full control over the devices you've purchased.
We maintain a wiki of information on how to unlock and modify a wide variety of consumer electronics.
A few of us decided to create The Hacker Pager as a way to explore the expanding world of LoRa wireless networking. Used by Amazon Sidewalk, Helium, Meshtastic radios, and a variety of remote sensing devices, LoRa requires specialized radio hardware; you can't just use your phone or laptop. We hope that the Hacker Pager can act as a fun, hacker-friendly way for tinkerers to interact with this technology.
The Hacker Pager is targeted at enthusiasts who don't mind a few rough edges. While we're extremely proud of what we've created, this is ultimately a very small scale homemade hobby project, and won't match the refinement of a professionally developed device. If you're someone who enjoys quirky, fully open source hardware, we're sure you'll have as much fun using the Hacker Pager as we had building it.
